The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks applications for the
position of Discovery and Metadata Coordinator (R97034). The Discovery &
Metadata Coordinator provides leadership, mentoring, and supervision for
and serves as head of the Discovery & Metadata Team. This team is
responsible for providing an excellent user discovery and access experience
while supporting a range of services including e-resources, metadata, and
library systems. The team is an important and innovative component of the
university's library and archives division (Collections and Archives) as
part of a unit named Technology and Digital Initiatives (TDI). Under the
supervision of the Director of TDI, this position leads a team of 3
librarians and 2 FTE staff to promote access to and discovery of library
and archival resources as well as to collaborate with personnel across the
division and university. The position will oversee staff training and
performance evaluations, foster an environment that supports professional
excellence, advocate for resources, plan and manage projects and personnel,
as well as build and maintain relationships. This position holds a 12-month
faculty appointment with rank leading to tenure.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Library/Information Science
from an ALA-accredited school or approved terminal degree.

Preferred Qualifications:  Three or more years of experience in management
positions in an academic library; experience with implementing new library
trends and technologies
