Position Announcement
Texas A&M University Libraries offers a leadership opportunity to join the Libraries as the Director of Metadata and Cataloging. The successful candidate should be a self-starter who will: lead efforts to build a robust, transformative metadata strategy, coordinating with other units to enable seamless user discovery of the Libraries’ resources; balance these efforts with the unit’s commitment to the Program for Cooperative Cataloging; assist with the migration process from Voyager to an open source system and the integration of the Medical Sciences Library’s catalog; foster effective relationships with peers and stakeholders throughout the Libraries and university; help facilitate internal and external communications and resolve conflicts; cultivate an environment that promotes cooperation, creativity, innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability for results; and encourage and support effective problem solving and decision making.
Reporting to the Dean through the Associate Dean for Information Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for leadership, assessment, and communication skills and the ability to lead change and work collaboratively with other units.
