Stanford University's Robert Crown Law Library seeks applications for a
newly-created Metadata Librarian position. Reporting to the Head of
Collection Services, this position focuses on the creation, maintenance,
and enrichment of metadata representing the Law Library’s digital,
physical, and virtual collections. This position performs various tasks for
new resources, including, but not limited to: providing support for digital
projects; bringing in bibliographic records for online treatises included
in various databases and completing the record to Law Library
specifications; creating original bibliographic records for monographic
resources including law review symposiums, Law School theses, and online
treatises; performing original and copy cataloging for case books and other
treatises. Position also provides backup in end product processing and in
directing student assistants in cataloging-related projects. (The
appointment will be made at the Assistant or Associate level, depending on
qualifications and experience.)
