*Please excuse cross-postings*

The ALA Core MARC Formats Transition Interest Group seeks speakers to
present at its meeting during the ALA Core Virtual Interest Group Week! The
meeting will be held on *Friday, March 11, 2022, at 12 pm ET.*

Libraries are actively exploring ways to transition from MARC and use
linked data services to enhance discovery and facilitate use of
collections. The ALA Core MARC Formats Transition Interest Group provides a
forum to discuss and learn about ongoing efforts to transition from the
MARC Standard for bibliographic data and examines new approaches and
strategies for implementing bibliographic data models within the framework
of linked open data and semantic web technology. If your library has done
such a project, we want to hear from you! Consider submitting your proposal
for a 15 to 20-minute presentation at the Core MARC Formats Transition
Interest Group session during the ALA Core Interest Group Week!

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

   - Library efforts to enhance and/or transform the library data in
   preparation for a format transition
   - Crafting linked open data to enhance discovery of your library
   collections
   - Learning and research experiences in transitioning MARC to linked open
   data
   - Lessons learned from system migration and/or data transition

In your proposal, please include your name, email, job title, and
affiliated institution of the presenter(s), the title of the presentation,
and an abstract of fewer than 300 words.

Please submit your proposal to the Interest Group's Programming Co-chairs,
Brian Clark (bpclark2 at ua.edu) and Cindy Tian (ttian at nd.edu) by *Monday,
January 31, 2022. *The presenters will be notified of decisions by Friday,
February 4, 2022.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Brian Clark, Cindy Tian
