The Core Diversity and Inclusion Committee is seeking presentation
proposals for lightning talks at the ALA Annual Conference 2022 in
Washington, DC on Monday June 27, 2022 at 1-2PM. This session will be live
and in-person only. All presenters must be in attendance. There is no
virtual option.

Over the last few years, particularly since the 2020 summer of racial
reawakening, many libraries have started special projects and initiatives
to address diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in our
collections, technology, staffing and leadership. This presentation
showcase will highlight some of the ongoing or completed projects by
librarians at public, academic, and special libraries. Presenters will be
selected to ensure that this showcase is of value to librarians and
administrators in a wide variety of roles and from many types of libraries.

As librarians seek to rise to the challenge of combating many of our
institutional histories of white privilege and systemic racism, programs
and initiatives are emerging driven by practitioners committed to effecting
change. Attendees of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Special Projects
Showcase will learn about innovative approaches being adopted and adapted
across the profession, including those that are experimental or so new they
have yet to be written about in the literature.

We are seeking lightning talks (5-7 minutes).

Please fill out this form to submit your proposal:

Proposals are due by Friday, May 20, 2022.
