Hi, everyone! Apologies for the cross-posting!

Wiki Education is in the final two days of accepting applications for our
upcoming Wikidata course.[1] We've worked extensively with metadata
librarians to provide support as they navigate the Wikidata community, and
we'd love for you to join us in one of our upcoming courses.

Wikidata is a powerful tool for open linked data, and we invite you to join
our upcoming virtual course. In this 3-week course (January 25th–February
11th), participants will meet with Wiki Education's Wikidata expert twice a
week to learn more about how Wikidata can serve their institution.

*Why is Wikidata so important?*
As you may know, all Wikimedia projects pull information from Wikidata,
including 300+ language versions of Wikipedia. Plus, Wikidata is machine
readable, meaning digital assistants, AI, bots, and scripts can interact
with Wikidata’s structured, linked data. Wikidata has created incredible
potential to increase access to information, ensure consistency across
languages, and give any language-speaker the opportunity to contribute
knowledge to this database.

That's why we're inviting you to join the open data movement and begin
building Wikidata into your work, bringing higher quality and more
equitable information to the public.

*Some things you can do with Wikidata:*
* Learn about tools you can use to make it easier to find scholarly
communications
* Get introduced to initiatives like WikiCite and tools like Scholia, which
aim to represent all scholarly articles on Wikidata
* Connect with other linked data enthusiasts to establish new standards and
data models for scholarly communications
* Familiarize yourself with Wikidata’s Query service and its powerful
visualization tools which can reveal new insights about your collection data
* Spend time using tools that will integrate your collection’s data to the
rest of Wikidata, enhancing the impact of your institution’s data in the
world

*Discounts and financial aid*
Register with a colleague for $100 off each participant's tuition fee, and
please note we may be able to provide partial financial aid for those whose
institutions cannot cover the fee, as we still have room for a few more
people to participate!utions cannot cover the fee.

I hope you'll join us and consider participating with a colleague or
requesting financial aid. Further course details and the registration form
are available at data.wikiedu.org.

Best,
Jami
