[Metadatalibrarians] ALA Annual 2020 - Call for proposals for Catalog Form & Function IG

The ALCTS CaMMS Catalog Form and Function Interest Group is seeking proposals for the 2020 ALA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL. The IG generally meets 2:30-3:30 pm on Saturday, June 27th.
Presentations should be 10 to 20 minutes long, with additional time for questions and discussion. The charge of the Catalog Form and Function Interest Group is to explore the evolving nature of the library catalog and its relationship to the fundamental mission and expanding services of libraries.
Theme: Access and accessibility: meeting user discovery needs
Possible topics could include:

  *   Navigating accessibility features in discovery layers
  *   Responding to user needs and expectations, user-centric principles for discovery of library resources
  *   Responding to the needs of individuals with assistive technology
  *   How to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in collections using library systems
  *   Using MARC fields or other metadata fields that house accessibility information
  *   Creating, configuring, and/or optimizing discovery interfaces to improve discoverability of materials on/by underrepresented groups
  *   Enhanced user experience through the accessibility and visibility of the library's online resources
  *   Exposing, display, and use of local data
