Please join the ALCTS Metadata Interest Group during ALA Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia for a presentation on metadata collaboration on Sunday, January 26th from 8:30 -10:00 a.m., at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 113-A during our regular scheduled meeting.

Metadata work thrives when it takes place in a collaborative context. Collaboration has increasingly been a part of bibliographic description, the description of digitized resources, digital humanities, ontology creation, and more. In this session, Melanie Wacker, Metadata Coordinator at the Columbia University Libraries will present on her work on ArtFrame, a BIBFRAME ontology extension for the description of two-and three-dimensional artworks, which is the result of collaboration between different community partners including Art Libraries Society of North America, Library of Congress and several libraries and museums. By exploring the experience from Columbia University libraries, participants will learn strategies for success and identify opportunities for collaboration in their own work. Be sure to add this event to your ALA Conference Scheduler<https://www.eventscribe.com/2020/ALA-Midwinter/fsPopup.asp?Mode=presInfo&PresentationID=665149>.
