Visual Resources Metadata Librarian
Cornell University Library, Ithaca, NY

Under the general direction of the Head of Metadata Services, the Visual Resources Metadata Librarian provides metadata consultation, design and development services to facilitate the use of digital and analog information for research and education. As a member of the Digital Consulting and Production Services (DCAPS) team, this position has consultation, project management and production oversight components; further, this position works at the intersection of many user-focused services and projects, which may include technical services, archives, data curation and digital libraries. The Visual Resources Metadata Librarian will work simultaneously on various metadata projects, collaborating with staff throughout Library Technical Services (LTS), Digital Scholarship and Preservation Services, Information Technology, and various special collections units as well as faculty and graduate students to enhance access to the library's digital collections.
