Jane-In, The Summer of Linked Data: The Jane-athon comes to San Francisco - REGISTRATION CLOSES JUNE 19
Our second-ever Jane-athon will continue the exploration of collaborative cataloging in a Linked Data world through the creation of Jane Austen-related RDA data outside of the MARC environment. We have assembled a stellar list of experts to serve as coaches and team leaders, including JSC Chair Gordon Dunsire, RIMMF developer Deborah Fritz, Robert Maxwell (author of Maxwell's RDA Handbook), Thomas Brenndorfer (author of the upcoming RDA Essentials), and many more (full list below). We even have Kelley McGrath of Oregon leading the team on Moving Images. The first Jane-athon, Fun with Dick and Jane (and RDA)<http://www.rda-jsc.org/Jane-athon.html>, was a great success and a lot of fun, and we expect no less for the Jane-In.
This is a unique opportunity to pioneer the linked data landscape for libraries and to connect with those some several of the subject's top thought leaders. All are welcome no matter what background or level of knowledge (cataloger/developer pairs are particularly encouraged). The only requirement is an active curiosity about RDA and linked data and a willingness to meet new people, try new things, and have fun. LEARN MORE<http://www.rdatoolkit.org/janein>
