[Metadatalibrarians] RDF standards?

The people in charge of our Fedora based repository have indicated that they would like to construct an implementation of RDF, and are asking for standards that they might consult.  I have an understanding of RDF on a purely theoretical level, and zero experience with it on a practical level.

Are there any standards or best practices that we can consult to get started?
