[Metadatalibrarians] Essential descriptive fields for ETDs

At my institution we are reviewing our ETD workflow, and I am gathering information from other institutions on how they do their Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) and what descriptive fields are essential for that process.  I'd love to hear back from anyone on this.
