[Metadatalibrarians] Exif metadata?

Is anyone out there using Exif (or something similar) to embed metadata
into image files?  Our archivist asked about doing this but I haven't
been able to find any best practices associated with Exif

I did find a nice overview Exif metadata here:

If anyone is using this are you able to pull that metadata from the
image files and re-use it else ware?  Any thoughts on pro's and con's of
doing this?
