[Metadatalibrarians] proper usage of this list

Lately I've noticed a few messages on this list that read like 
solicitations. Is this supposed to be allowed, or are these things 
slipping through? Personally I'd rather not get them, but if it doesn't 
bother most subscribers, I can live with them.
