Right. I didn't mean it should be split in two or that 'first' and
'last' were the ideal designations. I'm just in favor of more
granularity (however you slice it (and then have to deal with it)).
It's also a question of the scope of your metadata schema. Are you
writing a schema that is the end all be all for all people all over
the world or are you dealing with a particular domain where there are
established practices of how to handle forms of names.
