Clay, thanks--you have encouraged me to post XQuery questions, so I will
definitely do that! We also like working with MarkLogic a lot.
BTW, today one of my colleagues gave me a copy of "XQuery Style
Conventions": http://xqdoc.org/xquery-style.pdf. Thought I would share
this link on the list.

Hi Chris,
I'm glad to see another XQuery fan out there, as well as another
MarkLogic implementer. I'm neck deep in a test with MarkLogic and I
really like working with it. Given that Princeton Theological
Seminary has MarkLogic and Princeton Univ. has X-Hive, that town is
XML DB central!
This listserv is meant to be pretty open for discussion in terms of
getting help, but perhaps there's more we could offer. If so, just
let us know. IRC/Jabber for chats, etc. The list will soon have a
Wiki, and I have already setup a Subversion repository for those that
feel comfortable in sharing code via version management tools. A few
months ago I had also started the process of installing Planet to
syndicate metadata-related blogs, but I simply ran out of time. I've
had an offer for help and will cash in on that to get these things out.
Please always feel free to ask questions on the list, even if it's
for XSLT or XQuery help. Typically that sort of question goes to
something like XML4Lib or code4lib, but this list is a good starting
point for sure because we're all working on similar tasks. Everyone
will have different approaches and different preferences for metadata
implementations, but you'll at least be able to synthesize the
replies to make an informed decision. It's why we created the list.
Clay
