The Indiana University Digital Library Program is planning on releasing a locally-developed sheet music cataloging tool as an open source application. The tool provides an interface for collecting descriptive metadata about sheet music, and exports it in the MODS and simple Dublin Core formats. We've put together a brief, 3-question survey to help us make some decisions about the technologies on which to base the open source version of this tool.

The survey can be found at: <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=XUHRqiyjYGHvyMKqLkOtaA_3d_3d> (or <http://tinyurl.com/5pxp3x>).

If you have a current or potential need to describe your sheet music collections but don't plan on doing it in MARC, this tool could help. We're interested in hearing from you! Please also feel free to redistribute this message to other venues you think are appropriate.
